CMS provided notifications to the facilities that are determined to be out of compliance with Quality Reporting Program (QRP) requirements for CY 2017 for the following provider types:

  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
  • Hospice
  • Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH)
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)

Non-compliance notifications were mailed by Medicare Administrative Contractors and placed into QIES CASPER folders on July 9, 2018 and will affect the FY 2019 Annual Increase Factor.

It’s important to check your CASPER folder in QIES to determine if you have received a non-compliance letter.   If yes, then there’s a brief window to request a reconsideration and potentially avoid a potential 2% reduction in your FY19 payments for failure to submit quality data.

If you received a letter of non-compliance, you may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS via email no later than 11:59 pm PT on August 7. See the instructions in your notification letter and on the following webpages:
