Don’t panic if you receive a termination and/or exclusion notice from Ohio Medicaid. It was probably issued in error. On March 23, 2015, the following notice was posted on the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s website:
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MEDICAID PROVIDERS
Due to a recent MITS system issue, an error occurred on March 18, 2015 that impacted approximately 4,200 Ohio Medicaid providers. These providers received letters stating that they had been terminated and/or excluded from Ohio Medicaid.
The letters were generated in error and should be disregarded.
This system issue has been resolved and all affected providers have been restored to an ‘Active’ status.
The Ohio Department of Medicaid deeply regrets any confusion this may have caused, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
If you are an impacted provider and have questions or additional concerns, please contact Ohio Medicaid Provider Hotline at 1-800-686-1516.
