The IRS has extended the due date until March 31, 2016 for large employers to provide Form 1095-C, Employer–Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, to each full-time employee.
The due date for filing returns to the IRS has been extended until May 31, 2016 if filing on paper or June 30, 2016 if filing electronically for the following returns:
1. Form 1094-B, Transmittal of Health Coverage Information Returns
2. Form 1095-B, Health Coverage
3. Form 1094-C, Transmittal of Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage Information Returns
4. Form 1095-C, Employer–Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage
The IRS is not requiring filing an amended return if the individual files their return before receiving the information from the employer. As with other tax records, the information returns should be saved.
